Kensington Cat and Dog Home, About Us Page, & Spalsh Screen
Type: SPEC AD
My Role: Copywriting + UX Copy + Layout + Visual Design
Goal:
Create a warm, informative About Us page and a user-friendly pop-up screen that builds trust, communicates the mission, and increases engagement for an animal rescue organization.
Strategy:
Use conversational storytelling, clarity, and emotionally resonant messaging to highlight the rescue’s purpose and encourage users to explore adoption pages, donate, or sign up for updates.
Description:
I wrote and designed the About Us page and pop-up overlay to improve user experience and present the organization’s mission in a compelling and approachable way. The tone is friendly and community-oriented, helping new visitors immediately understand what the organization does and how they can get involved.
In addition to the "About Us" page, a pop-up was created to entice subscribers to the shelter's newsletter. See below for the pop-up asking visitors to be "Paw Pals" and requesting they sign up: "Sit! Stay! Click!"




Pure Impact Boxing Gym, Direct Mailer

My Role: Copywriting + Graphic Design
Goal (Spec):
Promote a local boxing gym to new members using a high-energy direct mailer designed to increase trial sign-ups and foot traffic.
Strategy:
Use bold headlines, powerful calls-to-action, and motivational language targeted at adults seeking strength, confidence, and community. The postcard uses urgency, benefits, and strong visual hierarchy for fast readability.
Description:
This spec direct mailer shows my ability to write punchy, benefit-driven fitness copy and design a clean, audience-focused layout. It demonstrates understanding of persuasive marketing techniques commonly used by gyms and fitness centers.


Shine and Clean Perfection- Facebook Ad
Type: Client Project
My Role: Facebook Ad Copy + Design
Goal:
Create a simple, scroll-stopping Facebook ad to increase visibility for a local cleaning business.
Strategy:
Focus on clarity, professional tone, and a strong value proposition around cleanliness, trust, and convenience. The ad uses short-form social copy optimized for local service audiences.
Outcome:
The ad helped the business generate 4 immediate likes and 22 new followers. (An infographic I also created supported engagement, though not displayed here.)
Description:
I designed the ad using client-provided photos and crafted copy that emphasized reliability, quality of service, and fast booking through Facebook.

Provide clear, public-facing educational messaging explaining the difference between stormwater and sewer systems for inclusion in a Town’s Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) and homeowner mailings.
Strategy:
Use simple, accessible language and clean layout to educate residents in a quick, visually engaging format. Tone is clear, accurate, and civic-oriented.

This piece demonstrates my ability to write technical information for a general audience. It was distributed as part of a town-wide CCR mailing to all property owners.

I was informed that one of the staff was so impressed with this graphic that he was concerned that no one would read the other parts of the Consumer Confidence Report.
Professional Experience
While transitioning to copywriting, I honed my skills in the environmental sector, diligently overseeing and enforcing environmental regulations. Through extensive experience, I expertly crafted compelling narratives for permit applications and issuances and meticulously prepared reports and documents. In addition, I have written educational materials and local regulations and policies discussing the importance of preserving our sensitive environmental areas and managing vulnerable stormwater infrastructure.
